Hi, I'm Caryssa!
The artist behind Creations By Caryssa
I create handmade wire wrapped jewelry inspired by nature, celestial beauty, raw gemstones, and the little details that make each piece feel magical and one of a kind. Every design is made by hand with care, intention, and hours of intricate work using natural stones, copper, sterling silver, and other carefully chosen materials.
My love for creating started long before I ever picked up wire. As a kid, I was constantly making things — sculptures out of rocks and glue, handmade jewelry, and little creations using my grandma’s old costume jewelry that I would take apart and repurpose into something new. I’ve always been deeply drawn to rocks, crystals, textures, and nature.
My nana has been my biggest inspiration in my journey as an artist. My love for rocks and crystals truly came from her. Since I was little, she would take me rock hunting in the mesas of New Mexico where we would search for petrified wood together. Large or small, I treasured every piece we found. Eventually, I found some especially beautiful smaller pieces that I wished I could wear, so I started looking up ways to turn stones into jewelry.
That’s when I discovered wire wrapping.
I went to the craft store, bought some inexpensive tools and wire, and immediately fell completely in love with the art form. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion that would change my life.
I officially began my wire wrapping journey in July of 2015, and over the years my jewelry has grown into something far beyond what I ever imagined. In 2018, my husband and I sold nearly everything we owned, bought an RV, and traveled across 23 states with our two dogs at the time. Along the way we lived in North Carolina, Florida, and Arizona before eventually returning home to New Mexico, where we’re now raising our two little boys under 2.5 years old.
My style is organic, earthy, celestial, and imperfect in the best way. I’m inspired by crystals, desert landscapes, space, vintage details, and the natural uniqueness of each stone I work with. No two pieces are ever exactly alike, and that’s one of the things I love most about handmade art.
When I’m not creating, I’m usually spending time with my family, dreaming up new designs, collecting stones, or sharing my process and journey online with the amazing community that has supported my small business over the years.
Thank you so much for being here and supporting handmade art. It truly means the world to me.
